Taking nerdiness to new levels, I’m trying out a new gadget to turn my ipad into a mini-laptop. Why? Because it’s smaller and lighter weight than my vintage MacBook… And, because it’s awesome.

The keyboard / case combo I’m using is a gadget by Clamcase. With its bluetooth keyboard and snug-n-sturdy fit with the ipad, this case is a winner so far.

It’s still kind of weird to have a laptop with no mouse, though. I keep catching myself waving my thumbs over an imaginary trackpad below the spacebar. When’s the last time I’ve actually wanted to touch my computer screen?

Combined with a good note-taking app, this appears to be a workable set-up for light to medium level productivity with a small footprint. No more hunching over the on-screen keyboard to pound out emails.

Any ideas for other ways to make an iPad productive?
