After trying out my GoPro Hero 2, I was immediately impressed with the flexibility and image quality of the tiny video camera. Except for one very important thing – it’s underwater image was all wet.

Then, a solution.

Here’s my gopro “blurfix” mod. The gopro hero 2 is a handy underwater camera. But, the stock housing that comes with it has one weakness – the curvature of the lens can lead to some blurry images. This aftermarket blurfix kit… Well, it fixes the blur by equipping the stock housing with a flat lens. Here’s how my install worked out.

GoPro now offers their own flat lens accessory which they hadn’t yet introduced when I installed the Blurfix kit. At this point, I think the Blurfix option better because of the ability to add your own lens filter. That’s a huge benefit in some underwater situations.
